Short Term Therapy
All currently registered WSU students may be evaluated by a CAPS counselor to receive free and confidential personal counseling at Counseling and Psychological Services. CAPS offers a short term treatment model, if either longer term treatment or a higher level of care are deemed necessary, a referral to an outside clinic, agency, or private practitioner will be made. Individual, couples, and group counseling are available.
Outreach Services
Staff members provide outreach programs to university classes and groups on various topics such as stress management, time management, test anxiety, depression, grief and loss, anger and violence, rape education, self-esteem, assertiveness, and a variety of other mental health topics.
CAPS is available to the entire campus community for consultation
and educational activities regarding student and mental health issues.
CAPS attempts to create viable liaisons with offices across campus and
collaboratively create a healthy campus community. A CAPS staff member
can also come out and talk about available counseling services.
If you would like to request a speaker from CAPS to attend your event, please
fill out our outreach request form.
